Drugstore Haul 5.4.13

There was one point to my entering CVS but obviously I got sidetracked. I may have needed consoling for the scam I was about to pay for which is my first product: Abreva. I had a cold sore pop up on me so my first thought was to get something to cure it. Well me and the sales woman looked in every aisle in the store...the only thing they had was a tiny travel size of Abreva for, get this, $20! Twenty freaking dollars? Ridiculous, but needless to say I bought it because that thing hurt! I hate cold sores, I'd rather have the actual cold than a cold sore.

So I picked up some other fun things like this foundation by Almay, Smart Shade Mousse Makeup. This is a more white mousse that matches your skin tone once it is rubbed in. I would say this has light to medium coverage, and you can get away with using just a tiny bit. The only thing is I don't like how this sits under my eyes, so I avoid the area and just use concealer. This was about $10 to $12 dollars.

I have heard nothing but good things about the Nearly Naked line by Revlon. So I decided I wanted to try something, but I have so many flipping foundations I couldn't bare to buy the liquid foundation. I opted for the powder foundation though, which is huge because I haven't used one since early high school. I hated powder foundations because back then I did not know better and did not know what worked for me. However, I've been having a lot of redness and a few breakouts lately and this gives me a great boost of coverage over my liquid foundations.

This is the shade light, but the line pulls a little darker. This is a perfect shade for my skin right now. The texture is so silky smooth it is incredible.

It comes with a puff but I find using my Real Techniques Powder Brush, which is perfect for it.

Hard to see but that is because the color is perfect!

This next product has totally surprised me and is another product I'm in love with. I got this palette from Forever 21, of all places. Now I love their clothing but sometimes they are pretty crappy quality so I did not have high hopes for this. However, this is a set of four colors of perfection. I couldn't be happier with this palette. Best part? I paid $3.80!

  2. Oh my gosh - I can never go to CVS and come out with just one thing. I can spend hours and hundreds of dollars there in just one sitting! It's a sickness. :P

  3. Forever 21 has a special place in my heart, but I've never tried their makeup stuff. I guess I have a bit of a jaded view about super cheap makeup. I will give it a second look next time I am there though! Revlon in general is usually a pretty solid brand for me, but I have never used their concealer. You will have to let us know how it goes!

  4. I completely agree, I always looked at make-up in Claire's and in F21 has just cheap, and a lot of the time they are really cruddy. This totally makes me want to try more though! As for the concealer - I'm in love. I totally recommend it! I just suggest using a brightening concealer under or over it just as an extra, really does the job.
